My Avatar
My avatar is inspired by the traditional Chinese Peking Opera, featuring the most recognizable hair crown design from the opera characters. I simplified the original design and crafted a paper version of the hair crown using cardboard.
I hope that China’s traditional culture, especially its intangible cultural heritage, can be vividly showcased to the world in this new era by leveraging advanced technology and the ease of international communication. Peking Opera is the most classic example of Chinese traditional culture. So I choose to make a Peking Opera hair crown as my avatar. Technologies such as virtual reality, digital media, and interactive platforms offer unprecedented opportunities to bring these ancient art forms to life, allowing people from all over the globe to experience their beauty and complexity firsthand. Moreover, increased global exchanges provide a platform for cross-cultural dialogue and appreciation, enabling traditional Chinese crafts, performances, and rituals to transcend geographical boundaries and cultural differences. By embracing these technological advancements and fostering international collaboration, we can ensure that the rich legacy of Chinese intangible cultural heritage not only survives but thrives, inspiring and captivating audiences worldwide. I believe that through these efforts, more people will come to love and appreciate the profound cultural treasures that have been passed down through generations.
